Pushing the Website

We made a sitemap earlier in the day to capture the main parts of the website. We used the roughed whiteboard drawing to drive our prototype development and help shape decisions on the fly. In many cases with client work, we opt to minimize the importance of the sitemap by keeping it a sketch. We embraced that fully today :).

Postcard Sent to Printer

After working through multiple passes at the visual design across the post card, brochures and website, we wrapped up the post card. It's now in PrintHQ hands and awaiting a proof check to make sure it's set up right. We're pumped to be working with PrintHQ as they are donating they're expertise and print services to ZURBwired. Prototypes Coming to Life As We Code (3pm)

The team is firing on all cylinders as they work through some of the concepts and turn out completed designs. Working in tandem we are slowly but surely tackling the design challenges in front of us. We also had a visit from an alumni of the program and got to see first hand the impact that Rebekah's has on the community.

Website Prototype Update

Earlier in the day the engineering team started prototyping the website. Right now they're transforming prototype page templates provided by the design team into working Joomla templates. So far we've coded up the blog index and blog show pages.

Lo-Fi Wireframes Pages Complete

Earlier in the day we went through a ton of opportunity sketches- 50+ to be exactish. This afternoon we then started to put more definition to the screens. Often times in our design process we'll just do sketches of web screens before jumping into code.

Turning the Corner at Lunchtime - 12pm

At 12 noon we passed through the first major decision point of ZURBwired 2011. After taking a break to have a quick bite to eat, the completed concepts were presented to the group and everyone voted on which ideas they like best. The teams broke apart for the afternoon and started to work on creating and implementing the ideas developed during the morning.

Finalizing Opportunities Before Lunch - 11am

As we near lunchtime, the designs and structure are really starting to take shape. Rebekah Children's Services is diving in to help the ZURB team push the envelope with some of the design concepts. Each team is working on identifying opportunities and racing to formalize their ideas to present to the group after lunch. At 12pm we'll break for lunch and finalize the Define Phase and choose which ideas make the cut moving forward.
