Every year, ZURB works with a dedicated nonprofit team and a few passionate volunteers to accomplish an entire marketing campaign. This all happens in a mere 24 hours.

Still strong (and crazy) after seven years

We were crazy enough to do our first Wired in 2006 and, in 24-hours,
blazed through a huge marketing effort.

Our first Wired wasn't just a stunt. We saw an educational opportunity where nonprofits could learn design thinking and push forward!

Working with nonprofits over the years, we've found that they need every detail figured out before they take action. There's a time and place for detail, but when getting a project off the ground, it can be paralyzing. That's where design thinking comes to the rescue!

This year, we worked alongside Sacred Heart Community Service who helps more than 75,000 people and families that struggle to make ends meet. It was a coffee-fueled 24 hour frenzy to create an entire marketing push for their campaign that provides food for individuals and gifts for children during the holidays.

Why 24 hours?

We tried to help nonprofits before and learned that an inspiring mission was not enough if the organization operated in a wildly inefficient or disorganized manner. Marketing opportunities get stuck too easily stalling efforts to drive that mission forward. Design, teamwork and a 24-hour timebox turned out to be the trick for maximizing our impact on a nonprofit organization.

This event gives the ZURB team a chance to help a nonprofit get unstuck by giving back in the best way we know how — by helping them solve problems through our time and effort. We get to stretch and grow while sharing our unique skill set for designing things for people.

Want to be a part of Wired?

Volunteering means signing up for the full 24 hours, showing up on time, and committing to helping various team members out in a fluid schedule that will test your mettle throughout the day and night (and day again).

The people who have the most rewarding experiences are also the ones who contribute the most. Web, visual and print design skills are best. They are great at their craft, think quick on their feet, likable and motivated to help a non-profit and collaborate with ZURB.

    What we are looking for:

  • Hard Worker

It takes a lot to go 24 hours straight.

  • Scrappy

Be able to figure out how to do something

  • Team Player

Be able to give helpful feedback
