About Sandi MacPherson
They call the time we live in, “The Information Age,” and it’s a fitting description. In our knowledge based society, we have a wealth of information at our fingertips. Content is created, shared, and consumed at lightspeed. But not all of this data is useful, interesting or relevant. In fact, it’s only getting harder to find the gems in the sea of mediocrity.
Sandi MacPherson started Quibb, a site that’s been called “Reddit for professionals”, to help people connect with each other, surface truly outstanding content on the web, and give people a window into what their peers are interested in. A former climate change scientist turned solopreneur, Sandi has built Quibb from the ground up, personally reviewing the membership applications of everyone using the site. Yes, Quibb doesn’t just accept anyone, each person is vetted by Sandi, which has resulted in a vibrant community consisting of the top influencers in Silicon Valley and beyond. Looking through Quibb’s member directory is looking at a who’s who list of tech’s elite.
In addition to Quibb, Sandi has also spearheaded the 50/50 Pledge, an initiative to showcase an equal share of men’s and women’s voices at tech conferences. She’s brought onboard thousands of women from some of the most influential companies including Google, Facebook, PayPal, and Shopify.
On January 15th, 2016 at 12:00 PM (PST), Sandi will hop on her Soapbox to talk about how she’s connected with top tech influencers, built a vibrant and active community and the opportunities for women in tech.
