Personal Recommendation:

  • Best way to have mashed potatoes is with butter, shredded cheese, bacon bits and ranch dressing.
Best Thing That Happened Last Week:
  • Got to sleep in like every day for a whole week, it was glorious.
Favorite ZURB moment:
  • My first meetup at ZURB! Knowing that ZURB was a place I'd love to work, I was super nervous to meet the team but when I met everyone I felt at ease because they were all so nice and welcoming!

Laurel Beyers

Theatrical Artist Turned Designer

Originally hailing from League City, Texas, our newest ZURBian has design built into her DNA. Her mother was a graphic/print designer turned art teacher and her father majored in design in college before eventually turning to engineering. Even though she came from hardy design stock, it took her a while to realize it was her true calling.

In college, Laurel pursued a degree in theater but noticed that her passion for it didn’t quite match up with her peers. She found her interest drifting more and more toward the visual realm, and took up side projects designing packaging, brand identities and illustrations. It soon clicked for her that while she loved theater and acting, design was her true love.

After graduating from Pace University in New York City with a degree in Theater and a minor in Art, Laurel married her sweetheart and dove headfirst into design. Her wedding proved to be a great training ground, with Laurel designing everything from the invitations to the decorations. With some encouragement from friends and family, Laurel went back to school to complete a Graphic Design program.

With newly minted design chops, Laurel made the brave decision to move out to Silicon Valley and take her career to the next level. She landed a position as an inhouse designer at a credit union and eventually moved on to one of valley’s big fish, Linkedin, where she continued to pick up new skills. It was shortly thereafter that a colleague introduced her to ZURB and our mission to help people design better connected products.

"I wanted to work at an agency that I felt connected to the team and the mission - ZURB fit that perfectly. The team members are all so fun, creative and hard-working I knew I wanted to be part of that."

We first met Laurel at one of our meetups and we instantly fell in love with her passion and enthusiasm. She’s also incredibly fun to be around with her sharp wit, love of the outdoors, and penchant for fancy cocktails. Without much discussion, we knew we had a new future ZURBian in the making. Fast forward a few months and Laurel has joined us as our newest designer! Our team is absolutely thrilled to help grow Laurel’s skills as a designer and we’re excited to see how she will use her talents to create amazing work for our clients.
