Envisions a better tomorrow, seizes opportunity today
As a designer and entrepreneur, Alok is on the lookout for big ideas that change the world. Which is why he recommends reading "Abundance" by Peter Diamandis, one of his favorite books. Within the book's pages, he says, you can find out how to save the world in the coming era of abundance that will replace eons of scarcity. It's that sort of thinking where you can see how Alok looks toward tomorrow.
But Alok also believes in seizing the opportunities of today. Before coming to ZURB, Alok worked at many startups in hustle and bustle of the consumer web.
He even co-founded a mobile health startup, right before becoming a full-fledged ZURBian. He is thrilled to join forces with our league of product designers in our ongoing quest for world domination!
While Alok was born in Vancouver, he grew up in a small town close to New Delhi, India. He recalls fondly learning to play Cricket and spending summers with his grandparents in the scenic north Indian town of Dehardun. His family eventually settled in sunny California, where Alok decided to attend UCLA (go Bruins!), earning a BA in Design and Computer Science.
When Alok isn't toiling on awesome designs, he enjoys exploring the outdoors or a bit of indoor rock climbing. On those lazy, couch days, he'll do a marathon of "The League" reruns. Or you can find him hanging in San Francisco's Mission District. Good food, that's all he's going to say …
- Driving with the windows down
- Reruns of The League
