We spend a lot of time pondering the future. We have to. The Web is constantly changing and at a rapid rate. Just think back to the early days of the internet where websites were nothing but static HTML. Now we've got Rails and node.JS for the back-end. Things have progressed so fast and there's no slowing down in sight.
The tools have gotten amazingly sophisticated and will no doubt continue to get better and better. Which makes code literacy crucial. Simply put, code is our future whether you're working on the back-end or putting together the front-end. And not just for designers and engineers either, but also for everyone on the team from business development to marketers. That's why those of us who aren't designers here at ZURB take code classes.
But for that proficient code literacy, we need tools for the front-end as well as the back-end. Not just tools, but good tools, that help us build quickly and responsively with clean code. Jonathan recently spoke at Groupon's Schmonference Conf on this very subject using our preferred tool and front-end framework, Foundation, to highlight our future in code. Enjoy!
