Words are great. They allow us to reflect, dream, report, instruct, and help.
Imagine how difficult the day would be if your only communication was through imagery. What if
your only resource was interpreting peoples actions? Judging from all the pictionary and charade
games I have played I am guessing this might be difficult. Words fill the gap in communication
and make it easier to understand.
I stood in a Mexican supermarket today trying to speak with the lady at the counter. No habla
English. I motioned for Advil with my head. I realized words were unnecessary to get the point across.
Sometimes it is better to let the visuals communicate. Words are superfluous.
Communication requires more than just speaking or writing words. It requires doing something. This
is when trust is built.
