For most creative people, asking for feedback is difficult. After all, who wants to open themselves up to criticism?
It's a vital part of the design process, though, and ultimately everybody on the team is better off for it.
How to Give Great Feedback
Keep these tips in mind if you've been asked to provide feedback on Bounce.
Does the feedback suggest a specific action and a reason for it?
Don't make someone guess what you're suggesting, and why. Be descriptive, but brief.
That's neat! You said something about feedback too?
Yes, we did! Once you've got your audience on the hook, they'll be able to give you their impression of your ideas. Thumbs up for the ones they love; thumbs down, they're not feelin' it. You'll get a summary page showing the total number of responses to each slide.
Does the feedback have context?
Bounce helps you out by always including the context of your feedback (the screenshot). In other cases, be sure they know what you're talking about.
Is the feedback encouraging?
Get people excited about your insights by positioning it positively!
Is the feedback realistic?
Don't overwhelm: try to break down the feedback in smaller, more manageable chunks.
How to Get Good Feedback
When you need to solicit feedback from others there are a few points to keep in mind.
Choose specific people you'd like answers from.
"Hey Mom, do you like this design better than the last one?"
Make sure the feedback you ask for helps to move things along.
"Please let me know by tomorrow if you want this new font."
Create a goal with specific examples and questions.
"Do you think the over-50 crowd will like the comic-book style header?"
