Logo for my new project - online magazine about Adobe Illustrator and vector graphic (only in czech language). How do you like it?
Thanks for sharing, Petr. Most logos I’ve seen for Adobe Illustrator either emphasize its vector nature (bezier curves, for example) or its traditional “AI” acronym. The pencil concept is something different — more artistic. Still, this example is just a pencil. It could apply to any artistic app on any platform. Is there something…
Oh. Ohhh. I just saw the Direct Select pointer. Very clever!
@bengremillion Arrow and Pencil - that was the main idea :)
Really digging it, I love the melding of vector and traditional media with the pointer and pencil as one. I don't think you need the bounding box on the words though, I feel like it doesn't add a ton and throws things off with the blue and its weight is so much lighter than anything else on there. I also really like the font you used to spell out illustrator and it seems well kerned. Is the font something you've created or is it a font you bought/downloaded if you don't mind me asking?
The mark looks great, but i'd try to anti-alias the text a bit. it's rendering fairly jagged as of now and isn't giving me the vector feel.
Not sure if you need the bounding box, vectips pretty much owns that idea in that space. The mark is good enough to stand on it's own.
Very clever, the roundness of the pointer is a little much for my liking. I do understand that you want the pencil tip to come through, but still think it's a little too much.
