Hello Forrst.ers, I'd love to get any feedback on a current redesign I'm working on.
Here is the link to the site: morehouse.edu/events/2011/…
The site is a micro site that illustrates events for the schools 'Founders Week'.
hey there, just few points..:
1.) Sorry but i find this really frustrating... Do you really want me to hover with my cursor all over these pictures, reading one by one? =/
2.) First impression is bad, probably caused by random positioning of elements and use of different picture frames - it looks somehow dated for me
3.) The last part - hotels accomodations & transports is difficult to scan, so any copy treatment is welcomed
4.) I generally like the previous version more, the only thing i like more on new design is the Schedule (good solution)
Sorry, for such a negative feedback and good luck ;)
@Martin_Bloksa no worries, thanks for the feedback though :)
regarding your comments;
maybe it's not executed the best way.. but who this audience is for, they'll know who the people are in the frames, but they may not know they'll be able to click on them for photos or videos. You don't have to hover over them, but i thought it was a good solution to inform the user without taking up space... I'll take a look at trying to get the same result.. but differently :/
great call.. i just pasted the text i received & didn't do any treatment. I cleaned it up now :)
:'( bummed that you like the previous version better... i'm not sure how much i'll change the frames, but there may be another way to somehow display it where it still holds it's elegance for being 144yrs in, but still has that new.ness
thanks again though!
I like this, you said its a micro site correct? Making it not really a re-design but a micro site for that site? Perhaps the previous poster assumed that you meant this is replacing the site you gave us a link to. (That is what I thought at first) But yeah as a micro site I think this looks nice. Keep it up
@dotsona thanks & yep.. it's a micro site for the college focusing only on that event... :)
I've made some revisions.. took the tooltips off & instead added title/plaques at the bottom of the frames in addition to some other various changes... wrapping up soon i hope
@vincebaskerville - Looking nice man, just checked out the url preview (missed that previously) I like how this is looking; goes well with their current website, nicely done!
