Allot of people are talking about the change of this logo, It's too much green but I like it sanstext. maybe they should have kept the black and green.
good call, i like the all black logo better // ps. *thought?
i dunno, i think the black with green stroke looks odd. i like 1992 the best, good year.
New design is perfect imho.
Yeah - thought*? I still prefer 1992!
I prefer 1992 as well.
I prefer the new one, honestly.
I like them both but I prefer the new one because they got rid of the text, the logo is less condensed and we can focus on only one thing. Besides Starbucks is now a well-know brand, so they don't really need the text any longer.
I still prefer the plain green new one- it's less busy and still easy to recognize for me, at a glance.
The new one seem like she's fun, yours seems a bit uptight.
Mermaids. We drink their juice.
I like the change. The 1992 works but I think it is a good time for a washed image, Starbucks coffee is positioned in the market. Now it looks modern and to be honest I think I need not say STARBUCKS COFFEE, the siren is a symbol now.
It's just a matter of us to accept the change, which is good for business these days and I think it needed a "Revival. "
Black with green border that is a big FAIL. WTF?
The change isn't that big of a deal. Honestly, if someone hadn't pointed it out, I might not have noticed, figuring it was a just a variation on their logo. Every brand/company has a set of graphic standards for their logo and type, and I might have figured this fit within those standards.
That said, it's a nice, clean change. Going with the times.
It was not my intention of getting this turned into a heated topic. Here's my thinking. Starbucks logo goes back 40 years. It always had the siren on a black background. And it always had a green band. I understand the change of removing the text. And I think that's great but the move to put it in green goes against the grain. If they wanted to keep the green it could've been done by keeping some of the band. Not changing it entirely. To me it's too jaring.
I like both the real version and yours. I think the black version could be used in quite a few situations but the green is very good too.
In fact I think this is the best redesign of a logo, and definitely best introduction of it for a very long time. So well done Starbucks!
The old one is the real one, it's gonna take some time to get used to the new one. Luckily they didn't change it as much as GAP did :P
