CSS Body Retina Background Images

Hey guys, question to do with retina assets. How would I go about applying a retina image for the body? Obviously I need this because I'm using a pattern as the background. I'm using the retina media query but what do I need to use for the -webkit-backgound-size? I tried using -webkit-background-size:103px 23px; which is the size of the normal image but that didn't do anything.

Filling width of something equally.

Okay so I have a slider and have the pagination but this the amount is unknown, so basically dynamically.. I have a 940 width and want the pagination to fill up that width be each one to be equal? So if I have 4 I need each one to be 235. If I have 5 they need to be 188..and so on. Is there a way to do this automatically so should I use a theme for Wordpress to sell the users don't need to mess with anything? Whats the best way to do this? Javascript?

Styling a select made with jQuery

As we all know, most people use menu's for responsive navigations now but I'm not only looking to style the itself but the 's too. But because this menu is created via jQuery using this plugin (https://github.com/mambows/mobilemenu) how can I go about styling it? Surely a jQuery styling plugin won't work but I may be wrong?

New Portfolio Site

So until now I've been using a theme from ThemeForest and decided its time to use my own design. Reason for not having one before is that I'm not the best at designing but I've managed to get to this point so far. At the moment its only a static HTML design but once I've completed the other pages I'm planning to get it into WordPress (if I can!). I have to say though this has been a struggle as I've been designing on my new Retina MacBook Pro so I'm not getting a crisp result in Photoshop but the results online have been outstanding. I've made it all retina ready for people using iPhone 4/4S's, iPad 3's and the new Retina MacBook Pro. I'd appreciate your opinions as I'm not the most perfect designer :-) Note, if the image hasn't come out correctly (e.g. blurred) here's a direct link - http://f.cl.ly/items/1r2r0J2G2B3F1S363e11/home.jpg

[class*=''"] and [class^==""] - What are they?

Recently I've been seeing [class*=''"] and [class^==""] in people's code, I've never seen this myself and just wondering what the purpose of them is? Strangely I can't find much info on the net about them.

Creating a slider manager which can be accessed via [slider id="#"] in WordPress

I've managed to create a slider by first making a custom post type for a slider but the first problem with that is that it creates the slides by adding a post, so the first step would be to be that each post is for a slider, how would I then add slide images in each post? meta boxes? But if using meta boxes it gets a tad more confusing for me as I haven't used them much, it would need to be something where it would first when creating a new post/slider have only one meta box to select the image with a button below named 'Add new slide' which then obviously adds another one of the meta boxes to select the image. But then how do I go about outputting the actual metabox images? Next, I simply output each post into a shortcode to create a slider. I'd now like to get this changed so each post outputs its ID and then the slider from that post can be accessed via a shortcode of something like [slider id="#"] where the ID is equal to the post of the slider you want to show. If it helps, here is the shortcode code I used: function ls_home_slider_sc( $atts, $content = null ) { $slider = '<section id="home-slider" class="flexslider">'; $slider .= '<ul class="slides">'; $sliderQuery = "post_type=home-slider"; query_posts( $sliderQuery ); if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); $slideImage = get_the_post_thumbnail( $post->ID, 'home-slider'); $slider .= '<li>' . $slideImage . '</li>'; endwhile; endif; wp_reset_query(); $slider .= '</ul>'; $slider .= '</section>'; return $slider; } add_shortcode('home_slider', 'ls_home_slider_sc'); Raw Code »

980width site on an iPad (portrait)

I'm doing some experimenting with different site widths and I'm having one problem. I'm wanting to use a 980 container width. So I've taken the Skeleton framework, taken the container css: .container { position: relative; width: 960px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0; } And changed it to .container { position: relative; width: 960px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0 10px; } to expand the width out as this is what I need. The layout works great on desktop, iPhone and iPad LANDSCAPE but for some reason it won't all fit on the iPad portrait orientation? It overlaps with about 20pixels. My mobile meta tag is: meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1" I've uploaded a basic example so you can take a quick look (obviously you'll need an iPad) - sites.lukespoor.com/layout/ Orange background is the container with the 10px of padding on left & right, and the red is the 940px sixteen column. Any ideas how to take this 980width on with the portrait orientation on the iPad?
