Need to get things done? Get them done with Strike.

Working online is challenging - there's always a lot to do, and do quickly. Sometimes you work alone; often you work with someone else or as part of a team. Regardless of what you're doing or who you're doing it with, you need to get stuff done, and we do too. That's why today we're announcing Strike.

We used an earlier prototype of Strike to finish the app. Check out the complete list »

Strike is a dead-simple, no sign-up way to set up tasks and knock 'em down. Here's why you'll love Strike:

  • No signing in, no registration. We built Strike to be as fast and painless as possible to put a quick list together. When you go to strikeapp.com all you have to do is name your list and you're good to go. In fact you can create as many lists as you want - just bookmark your lists and you can switch between them seamlessly.
  • Plays nice with others. Need to work with someone else? Create a list, grab the URL, and share it through email, IM, Twitter, whatever works for you. You'll see on your list who struck off a task, and they'll see your updates too.
  • Personalized. You'll be seeing your Strike lists a lot, so why not see in them in cool, different ways? You can not only choose how you view completed tasks, but also pick between several themes (and we'll be adding more).

Strike is not a project management app, and it's not a scheduling tool with delegation or Outlook importing or any of a thousand things that just muddy the water. We needed a quick, easy way to create and share task lists and we think it'll help you too. Get started by visiting strikeapp.com and creating a list - we'll give you some sample tasks to show you the ropes. Now go get things done!

The way pages just transition from one to the next without reloading is phenomenal. It's amazing how fun that little detail is. Makes me dream of a "stateless" web.

The app looks nice, but unfortunately, it doesn't behave as I'd expect (or it's got bugs?) I the developer builds of Chrome (9) and IE9 RC, when I try to check one of the tasks, it sometimes prompts for my name, and then doesn't visually do anything. :( So, it's hard to strike something off the list.

I'm with Aaron -- it's simply not working for me. I've tried in Firefox, Chrome and IE8 and checking the little boxes next to my items just doesn't do anything. : /

Aaron and Greg Thanks for letting us know - looks like something is amiss in the application. We're taking a look at it and will comment back when it's working. Thanks again!

busted on Chrome - Mac. :(

Very nice - I just wish it was iPad friendly. Awesome little app.

The issue has been fixed. Go ahead and try again.

Greg (ZURB) says

Yup, all fixed and workin' like a charm!

It'd be nice if the site cookied users so that when you go back you see a list of the lists you've created. (whoops...or maybe it does, I dunno, I've been clearing my cookies today for QA on a work project...)

I think this is nice app but I have noticed a disturbing trend among user experience designers lately. They seem to feel the need to mock and IMO mis-characterize any productivity tool that actually offers (GASP) features, or expects people to do planning:

"Strike is not a project management app, and it’s not a scheduling tool with delegation or Outlook importing or any of a thousand things that just muddy the water".

Now I may be reading more into that than was intended but "muddying the water" is in the eye of the beholder. For many of us those apps "clear the water".
